WE'RE HERE TO HELP, NOT MAKE YOU FEEL BAD

Do you suffer a dental phobia or dental anxiety? Are you anxious or worried about going to the dentist?

Don’t worry, you are not alone and we understand and will listen to your concerns. Don’t avoid going to the dentist.

At Ashbourne Dental Care, we help patients with dental anxiety all the time. Having a fear of dental treatments such as Root Canal and tooth extractions is nothing to be ashamed of. We understand that there are a number of different things that can contribute to dental anxiety and fear.

We can help alleviate dental anxiety and phobias for you and your family with our FOUR main resolutions for patients who suffer from a fear of the dentist.

1. I’m Anxious That the Treatment Will Be Painful or Uncomfortable

It is not uncommon for people to feel anxious about a dentist causing pain during dental treatment. Worrying if your tooth extraction or root canal is going to hurt is stressful. Our practitioners are trained to perform pain free dentistry and are especially gentle when cleaning, scaling and performing your other dental treatments.

Nevertheless, if you feel that you may need to be more relaxed during your treatment appointments, your practitioner can prescribe a medication for anxiety relief. Minimal sedation dentistry at Ashbourne Dental Care is prescribed in pill form. Once it has come into effect you should feel totally calm and relaxed. Patients have said it helps them feel more relaxed, the appointment time passes much faster and they often have minimal memory of their appointment.

2. I Haven’t Been to the Dentist in a While and I Don’t Want to Be Criticised or Judged

Patients may feel embarrassed because they needed treatment in the past and didn’t book the treatment appointment or they didn’t agree with a recommendation from a previous dentist.

At Ashbourne Dental Care, we practice what we like to call ‘Blame-Free Dentistry’. This means that during your visits, we will listen to your concerns without criticising or judging your oral health. If it’s been 5 years, or 10years or 20 years. It doesn’t matter. We’re just here to help you.

3. I Can’t Afford it

Ashbourne Dental Care aims to provide quality dentistry that is good value. We don’t necessarily think we are the cheapest dentist, or the most expensive. We will never recommend unnecessary treatment, nor will we compromise your oral health with less extensive work when more is needed. Our goal isn’t to just help you have a beautiful smile, but help you have a beautiful smile you won’t regret.

Dental visits can be pricey, and dental treatment like new dentures, root canal therapy or dental implants can be expensive. However, there will be no surprises with our fees; we aim to keep you well informed for mutual consent. There will be no surprises when it comes to your treatment, the amount of appointments necessary and the costs involved.

If you have difficulty with the price, we can arrange for you to spread your treatments and the payments out if necessary so they better fit within your budget.

4. I Am Scared and Just Can’t Seem to Relax

Dental anxiety makes it hard to relax during your dental visit, which is why our practitioners will try to make it as comfortable as possible during your time with us at Ashbourne Dental Care. To help you feel less stress, we offer:

  • Televisions in each treatment room
  • Noise canceling headphones to listen to music, watch TV or movies on Netflix.
  • Blankets and pillows
  • Comprehensive consultations so your treatment options and costs are clear and there’s time for any questions you might have
  • Top quality dental topical gels and anaesthetics administered gently to make injections pain free
  • Longer appointments – we can go at your pace
